who we are

A calligrapher | A designer

We’re just a couple of gals who appreciate hand-crafted design and creating a life that allows us to enjoy the perks of being a small business. We purposefully keep our team small and work with other quality minded folks to give you the very best product possible.

what we do

We highlight the beauty in your everyday.

Whether it’s personal stationery, invitations, handwritten calligraphy, or a custom illustration, our team thrives in taking your thoughts and ideas and turning them into a visual representation of who you are and what makes you unique.

how IT ALL started

In a hotel ballroom, surrounded by chair covers.

I’m taking it WAY back…as in, the very first time we met. You see, we met in Savannah working as assistants for a wedding planner, and for those of you who don’t know it, wedding planning is not as glamorous as JLo made it out to be. It’s a lot of behind the scenes hard work, and we learned a lot about each other’s work ethic during those long Saturday nights that sometimes spilled over into the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Fast forward to 2012 - Genina has her graphic design biz and I’ve finally decided to start charging people for my calligraphy. We’ve referred clients to each other but at this point, we’re still two separate businesses. Let me set the scene for you: we’re sitting at Genina’s dining room table, on the phone talking to The Knot about possibly working together on a project and they ask us, “So, what’s the name of your business?”

… crickets …

Welp, no time like the present to combine our super powers and make it official, amiright?!?

We exchanged a deer in headlights look with each other as a light bulb went off. You know those times when you think you and your friend are sharing one brain? Well, this was definitely one of those times, and thank goodness it happened too!

I scribbled “Lowcountry Paper Co.” on a sheet of paper and as the words are coming out of Genina’s mouth, I’m on the Secretary of State’s website reserving the business name and confirming is available. Luckily, the stars were aligned and Mars was nowhere in sight because both the name and URL were available.

And, voila! A baby stationery business was born! We’ve been creating timeless keepsakes for our clients ever since and although it’s not always rainbows and unicorns, we still think it’s a pretty sweet gig.

Who are you and how did you end up in Savannah, GA?
Hiyah! Meredith here! I made my way to Savannah for love…yeah, yeah, yeah, cheesy answer but it’s true. My boyfriend at the time (now husband) moved to the Hostess City to go to school and I happily followed after spending 5 years in Atlanta while at Georgia Tech. When I heard of a need for another local calligrapher, I jumped on the opportunity! I picked up an excellent book, put in the time for purposeful practice, and I guess you could say the rest is history.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
Playing outside with my homies! Whether it’s paddle boarding, enjoying a walk on the beach, or sitting on the back porch with my hubs and our dogs, spending time with the people I love the most is how I like to fill my non-working hours.

What is your favorite color?
I love the color PINK – in all of its glorious shades. Pink makes me smile…and smiling’s my favorite!

Who are you and how did you end up in Savannah, GA?
I’m Genina – the resident design nerd. I moved to Savannah from Miami, Florida just over a decade ago (gasp!) to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design. I fell in love with the charm and beauty of the city and decided to make it my home after graduation. Turns out I have a soft spot for Spanish moss and pimento cheese.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
If I’m not at the studio I’m probably playing with barbells at Crossfit Hyperformance. I’m an avid crossfitter and I end everyday with a few hours at the box – it’s my preferred method of stress relief.

What is your favorite color?
Turquoise – hands down, no question. Pretty sure I was a hippie in a previous life.

Who are you and how did you end up in Savannah, GA?
I’m a true Carolina girl, self-proclaimed professional air hockey player and queen of last-minute adventures. My decision to move to Savannah was half-baked. My high school art teacher, Angela, told me I was going to Savannah College of Art and Design; without question, I did. Fortunately, SCAD is a great school and Savannah is gorgeous. Immediately, the city charmed me with its lush oaks and rich history. I’ve been love struck ever since.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
Anything outside...camping, biking, frolicking in the water - you name it, I’m down.

What is your favorite color?
It changes. Right now I’m diggin’ sage green.
